The goal of this website is to help those interested in playing over-the-board chess find great locations to do so. Cafés, bars, restaurants, you name it; any place that allows our fellow players to sit down and play some chess, potentially with a nice drink and some good food!
The app was created quite shortly after I had been bitten by the chess bug myself. I loved playing chess online but often missed the personal connection of sitting down with a friend (or stranger), and play some chess in real life.
As you can see, the app is in its early days and it needs more community input to grow the number of locations to make it useful no matter where in the world you are. If you know a great place that happens to have a chessboard with pieces, and its publicly accessible, do add it to the map! You can use the "Add a new spot" button at the bottom of the main screen.
